If you have a young baby who’s not yet able to stay on his side by himself while looking at a book or “playing”, try this simple trick:
Roll up a receiving blanket and place it behind baby’s back to keep him in place so he can engage with his environment in a side-lying position. This position is a great complement to tummy time (learn some creative ideas for how to make tummy time easier and more fun for your baby HERE!) and it’s also really important for preventing the development of flat spots on baby’s head, which often form as the result of too much time spent staring at the ceiling or being wedged into a carseat/swing/bouncer.
Give this trick a try and let me know what you think!
