Are you looking for summer activities to ward off boredom at home while also supporting your child’s development over the summer? If so, then you’ve come to the right place! This post contains affiliate links for your convenience (see my full disclosure).
Last summer a mom-friend of mine filled a big jar with kid-friendly summer activity ideas written on strips of paper, and she labeled the jar, “DON’T BE BORED!” That way, if her kids ran out of ideas for what to do during the day, they could pull a strip of paper out of the jar and instantly have an idea for something to do. I thought this was such a great idea!
This summer, instead of giving you a big list of activities in traditional blog post form, I thought I’d share my summer play ideas with you as a free printable that you can hang on your fridge or cut into strips and put in a jar or bucket like my friend did.
No more whining that there is nothing to do!
The summer activities in this FREE HANDOUT are appropriate for kids approximately ages 3-7 years and address skills related to fine motor, gross motor, oral motor, and sensory development. These are great activities to do with parents, babysitters, siblings, and even on playdates with friends! Additional resources are also listed at the end of the handout. Please be sure to supervise for safety as needed.
